I have followed her faithfully as I have had a return of my Melanoma as well. I am currently a LAte Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma with metastis to my brain and liver. I am currently undergoing radiation and will start chemo for the second time soon. I am very saddened by this news. Thank you for sharing. WOW, I had no idea that she had passed. I too am a melanoma survivor, I'm currently in the fight for my life at stage IV. Attending a Boston symposium last year, it was impressed upon us that we need to worry about our future..our children. I was told a child born in 2010 will have a 1 OUT 50 chance of having melanoma. Get rid of those 'cute' little bikini bathing suits for children, cover their heads with hats that have shade..avoid baseball caps. Australia is way ahead of us insofar as skin care against the sun...their children's parks are already using shade structures! It's time to get moving. I am from Wisconsin. I used the Mineral - Based Sunscreen on my trip and I had no sun burn,.....except for the first day when I forgot to put it on. I am amazed at the number of people who use tanning beds frequently! These tanning bed establishments make the claim that they are safer than the sun, because they only use UVA lights. Research has shown that UVA is very harmful as well. Everyone in my family is fair, and this has made me more cautious. However, I have learned that melanoma can happen to people with dark complexions just as easily. Everyone is at risk.
